Is 'Shreks-appeal' influencing what you buy? McDonald's Happy Meals, Nutella, LCM's, ARNOTT'S biscuits and more - everywhere you turn, that loveable green ogre appears on food products promoting his latest flick 'Shrek the Third'. And many of the foods he's pushing are far from healthy.

I have noticed numerous Shrek-branded products, mainly because my 4yo loves to point them out! The branding definitely affects what my 4yo requests when we're out shopping, but if anything, I'm less inclined to buy the Shrek version of a product than the regular version, so as not to be seen to be indulging my 4yo's consumer whims!

I have noticed that Shrek is everywhere in the supermarkets and companies have added green food colouring to their usual products to make it 'Shreklike'. If they're going to market green food with Shrek's face on it then why don't they use food that is already green - like fruit and vegetables? Shrek's face on a granny smith apple instead of a candy bar - now that's what I would like to see.

I think the cartoon characters on food is totally inappropriate. My 3 year old wants high sugar junk food because of the Shrek pictures marked ALL over them. Most of the Cartoon labelled brands are the foods that are not good for our kids. Theres no SHREK on the organic and healthy alternative labelled food/snacks/fruit. Shame on you SHREK!!!!!
