What we say
DEVONDALE Moo Zoo snacks are bite size cheese pieces shaped as Australian or African animals. As claimed on the label, they're a 'good source of calcium' –– each 15g animal manages to pack in around 18% of an eight-year-old's daily calcium needs.
They get a red light for fat, but cheese by definition is generally a high-fat food, so that comes as no surprise. The bonus is that DEVONDALE Moo Zoo cheese is less salty than many other cheese products popular with kids –– KRAFT Cheestiks are three times saltier, for example.
DEVONDALE Moo Zoo snacks are handy for lunchboxes. But if your child's a cheese-aholic and one animal just isn't enough, you may want to favour reduced fat cheese options. And remember, there are other good sources of calcium with much less salt and fat than cheese –– low-fat yogurt or low-fat milk, for example.
